USS Constitution

USS Constitution ("Old Ironsides") in Boston Harbour, Massachusetts. Nicknamed when cannon balls bounced off her oak planking, Old Ironsides was undefeated in 40 historic battles. The ship, built in Boston in 1797, is still a US Navy ship and a living museum of Naval History. Every Year on the 4th of July, with decorative flags flying and her gun booming. The Constitution is towed out into the harbour and turned around to permit even weathering at her permanent dock in Charlestown.
This gem of a postcard was kind courtesy of Matt.

Georgia, USA

Charmed by the easy lifestyle, the smiles and the “Hi,y’alls”, visitors enjoy the green space, white sandy beaches, the moderate climate and the friendly people that Georgia has to offer.
Karyn says that, Georgia is full of Southern charm and is very historic. A place of the Civil War, and famous for large plantations. The movie “Gone with the Wind” was filmed in Georgia.

Taitung LittleYeliou

Taitung LittleYeliou. Little Yeliou is located on the northern banks of the Beinan stream, and about 10 km from Taitung City. It is dubbed “Little Yeliou” as there are oddly shaped rocks in this scenic area, whose views are similar to those of Yeliou of the North Coast. Contributed by Jenny Yu from Taiwan.

This is Lucerne in Switzerland. And the picture shows the Chapel Bridge and the Collegiate Church. For those interested in dates, this happens to be or is believed to be the oldest wooden bridge in the world. It was built in 1333, so says my friend Verena from that lovely country.

An Inukshuk

This is really an amazing picture. One feels as though it’s from Stonehenge. But, it isn’t. Its an Inukshuk. An Inukshuk is a man-like figure made of stone, used by the Inuit, when they go hunting to find their way and also to frighten caribou’s and lead them into a trap. Isn't it fabulous. And its all thanks to Lori in Canada.
